Mark & Martine - St. Fillans Catholic Church Crief - Comrie White Church.

After spending many hours trawling the internet looking at loads (and I mean loads!) of wedding photographers, I happened upon a wedding shoot photographed by Mark Wild.

Instantly, Martine and I were hooked - we loved the way Mark captured the light, the way that colours punched out of his photos and his incredible eye for capturing the moment whilst preserving the emotion in his shots. I contacted Mark straight away, informed him of our vision and venues for our wedding day, we got on instantly, so we set up a couples shoot at a location nearby. Meeting Mark in person was a lovely experience, he is a smashing guy who is great fun and emanates a calm but confident energy, he put us at ease straight away. The couples shoot was a really unique experience, I had anticipated that I wouldn’t be comfortable as I’m not used to being photographed, however, Mark made us both feel so at ease that the shoot was a nice and natural experience enjoyed by us both. The results of the shoot were brilliant, we also got on great with Mark so we requested his services for our wedding day and fortunately for us he relished the opportunity (Mark had already carried out a recce of our venues in Crieff and Comrie).

Prior to our big day, Mark asked us to provide him with a list of specific shots that we would like out of the norm. He took our requests and expectations on board as well as our overriding request was that Mark utilise his artistic licence in candidly capturing our day. We pretty much gave him full autonomy over our wedding shots such was our confidence in his ability.

On our big day, Mark was a bit of a ninja! Not only did he capture Martine’s wedding preparations in Comrie but also hot-footed it to St Fillan’s in Crieff in plenty of time to capture me and my groomsmen welcoming our guests to the church. Exerting professionalism and discretion Mark captured Martine’s arrival and our service in its entirety, including the full range of emotion felt, through his artistic prowess. Despite pressing time constraints, Mark set up and captured our requested family portrait shots after the ceremony, in addition to impromptu natural shots of the guests and wedding party whilst they mingled.

Back to Comrie for our reception at Comrie White Church and ‘Ninja Mark’ went about in stealth mode capturing impromptu candid shots of the guests and us as we all mingled. With his eye on the natural light and the beautiful scenic opportunities on hand, Mark stole Martine and me to captured images of us outside the reception venue, in the grounds, on the bridge and in the camper van, all of which are stunning. A ninja never tires and so Mark tirelessly documented our reception, from a beautiful reportage of speeches with guest reactions and emotions to the magic of our first dance in shots that can only be described as mind-blowing. Mark remained at the wedding reception a lot longer than we expected capturing the fun of our guests and special moments for us to savour.

To sum up, Mark you have given us such a gift, you have captured not only special moments but what was special in the ordinary moments of our special day, which we now have forever to accompany our incredible memories. All of this you presented in a way that only you could with the light and colours that first drew us to your art.

Ninja Mark, thank you so much
